At Audenge, you may visit, walking, the Certes Graveyron domaine, formerly salt marsh, dammed at the XVIII century.
2 hybrid bikes are at your disposal in order to explore the surrounding forest, but you can also join the safe bikeway, 1 kilometer from there. The latter reaches a bikeway networking the whole bassin d’Arcachon territory.
Northern-bassin d’Arcachon specificity:
When it is low tide-time, the sea withdraws by two thirds. This phenomenon allows several amazing landscape views of the bassin d’Arcachon in a one-day timelapse, for the uttermost enjoyment of photographers and nature enthusiasts.
By its central position, you will be half-way (about thirty km) of the presqu’ile du Cap Ferret and the ocean beaches, and the dune du Pyla, the largest dune in Europe and its heavenly surroundings (Banc d’Arguin). there are many walks and maritime shuttles, which allowed you to go in particular, to the Banc d’Arguin, to the l’Ile aux oiseaux, or go round the « cabins tchanquées » (2 huts on stilts at the heart of the water).
